Everglades Adventures offers guided alligator hunts during Florida's statewide alligator harvest program. From August 15th to November 1st each year, you can join us for an unforgettable hunting adventure in South Florida's public waters.
Hunting on Public Lands: Trophy Alligator Hunts
Our hunts take place in designated harvest units located in Southern Florida, including Lake Okeechobee and the Florida Everglades. We specialize in areas such as #406 (STA-5), #601 (Lake Okeechobee WEST), #604 (Lake Okeechobee SOUTH), and #404 (Everglades WMA-WCA-3A). These hunts are conducted during specific harvest periods designated by the state.

Processing
Alligators Inc.
Additionally, we provide alligator processing services for our clients. As the sister company of Alligators Inc., we are licensed and inspected by the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.
Equipment and Refreshments
We provide all the necessary equipment for our alligator hunts, including bows, fishing rigs, and bang sticks. The use of our equipment is included in the hunt at no additional charge. During the hunt, we offer bottled water and soft drinks. We also provide ice for the hunt and recommend bringing a large ice cooler (60 quarts or larger) to pack your harvested alligator meat.
How We Hunt Alligators in the Swamps
Legal hunting hours for public waters hunts are from 24/7., allowing for all-night hunting adventures. Weapons used include compound bows, recurve bows, crossbows, or harpoons for the initial shot, and a bang stick for the harvest. Hunters using bows should have a minimum draw weight of thirty-five pounds and a fishing reel attachment with a retrieval line of at least 200-pound test. Firearms are not permitted on public water hunts.
Obtaining the Proper Permits
Before participating in an alligator hunt, it is essential to obtain the proper permits. Alligator hunting requires the use of CITES tags issued by the US Fish and Wildlife Service to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission. These tags are crucial for ensuring the sustainability of the trade and must be placed in the tail of all harvested alligators. Additionally, one hunter must be a licensed trapper, and the guest must have a state agent trapper license to participate in the harvest.
