Techniques and Legal Hunting Hours

Legal hunting hours for public waters hunts are from 24/7., allowing for all-night hunting adventures. Weapons used include compound bows, recurve bows, crossbows, or harpoons for the initial shot, and a bang stick for the harvest. Hunters using bows should have a minimum draw weight of thirty-five pounds and a fishing reel attachment with a retrieval line of at least 200-pound test. Firearms are not permitted on public water hunts.

Securing the Necessary Permits

Alligator hunts in public waters requires specific permits, including CITES tags essential for the sustainability of alligator populations.These tags, issued by the US Fish and Wildlife Service and managed by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, are mandatory for all hunters. We guide you through the permit process, ensuring that you meet all legal requirements for a successful and compliant hunt.
